Sitterly Road and Woodin Road Car Accident, June 2008

CPFD assisted the Clifton Park Ambulance Corps at an accident at the intersection of Sitterly Road and Woodin Road on June 30, 2008. The car climbed the guide wires for the nearby telephone poll and ended up atop the street sign. The driver was uninjured. Last photo taken June 30, 2008.

Get Out Alive, Fire 2008

On June 12, 2008, Firefighters Donnelly, Hollner, Smith, and Spinner participated in an intensive eight-hour course at FIRE 2008, the annual training event in Lake George, NY hosted by the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs. Get Out Alive, presented by Battalion Chief John Salka Jr. of the FDNY, teaches Firefighters personal survival tactics such as wall breaching, window rope sliding, and rapid ladder bail techniques. Prom Promise, 2008

'Developed and written by students, the Nationwide Prom Promise challenges young people to consider the consequences-prior to prom night-of drug or alcohol use to help avoid impulsive and possibly regretful consequences.' On April 24th and 25th, 2008, Students Against Destructive Decisions and a number of law enforcement and fire agencies simulated several traffic accidents caused by driving under the influence of alcohol at Shenendehowa High School East. Halloween, 2007

CPFD helped local children get in the mood for Halloween by leading parades in four district neighborhoods, including this one in Robinwood Estates. Jonesville versus Clifton Park, July 2007

On July 19, 2007, the Clifton Park Fire Department and the Jonesville Fire Department held a rematch. Despite a valiant effort, CPFD again came up one run short in the battle with Jonesville for softball supremacy. There will be at least one more rematch, and team members promise a win next time. Past Clifton Park Fire Department Apparatus

The Clifton Park Fire Department sold the previous ETA 19-3 to the Maplewood Fire Department and the previous R 19-4 to the Anna Fire Department, both volunteer departments in Ohio.

The Maplewood Fire Department previously purchased Clifton Park Fire Department's retired ETA 19-2, also shown.

Roof Simulator Construction, April 2007

The Clifton Park Fire Department has nearly completed the construction of a much-needed Roof Simulator, providing the Training Department with a valuable resource and allowing them to significantly expand Venting and Roof Operations drills. RIT Drill, March 2007

The Clifton Park Fire Department frequently trains with neighboring departments, allowing our members to benefit from their experience.

On Wednesday March 28 2007, we trained with the F. B. Peck Hose Company from the Northside Fire District in Waterford, NY at a structure they provided. Fundamental FAST (Firefighter Assist and Search Team) skills were practiced. Last photo taken March 28, 2007.

On Sunday March 16th, 2007 the Clifton Park Fire Department held a Tower Drill at the Ballston Spa Training Center. This live fire drill was the final test for two Probationary Firefighters, Allen Wagstaff Jr. and Dan Kittay.
