Outdoor Burning Ban Lifted
The Saratoga County Fire Coordinator
has announced that, due to the current and forecast precipitation, the State of
Emergency Declared Burn Ban has been lifted.

Shen Crash Day
Members of CPFD and other local fire and police agencies participated
in "Crash Day 2008," on April 24 and 25 . A
car accident was staged at both Shenedehowa High School
East and West using members of the SADD Club, Students
Against Destructive Decisions, showing the ramifications
of Drunk Driving. Above, former CPFD Chief Art Hunsinger coordinated the exercise. Additional photos of this and other events

Pancake
Breakfast Mixes Flowers with Flour
The Mother's Day edition of the CPFD Pancake
Breakfast, held on May 4, featured flowers
for our special guests. CPFD members Mary
Smith and Frank Terwelp prepared the bouquets
for visitors such as the lucky ones in
the photo at right.
All new fireplaces, pellet stoves, wood burning stoves, inserts, etc.,
require a permit from your local building Department. They will help you
make sure that these are installed properly to help prevent fires and carbon
monoxide issues.
Local laws which cover outdoor burning are not all the same in our area.
Contact your local building department for information before you burn.
Please be aware of the location of all underground utilities on your property
before you dig. Natural gas lines to your house might not be more than 18 inches below ground.
