Monthly Pancake Breakfast

The Clifton Park Fire Department is continuing its 2011-2012 pancake breakfast season on Sunday May 13th to celebrate Mothers Day. Pancake breakfasts are held on the first Sunday of each month from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM. In addition to an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, tours of the fire house and fire apparatus are provided. Please join us for food, fun and a great way to spend a Sunday morning.

Last month's breakfast was a big success. Thank you to those who came and supported the CPFD!

And many thanks to the volunteers who serve, cook, prepare, organize and clean-up each month!

A Day to Remember

This will be a new section of the Clifton Park Fire Department website that allows us to remember major events in the history of the department. Stay tuned as this section will be updated as anniversary dates of major events approach.

This month's event to remember is the December 2008 historic ice storm that wreaked havoc on the Northeast and left Clifton Park and other fire departments in the region working around the clock for several days keeping the community safe and responding to emergencies.

Busy Easter for the Fire Departments in Southern Saratoga County

Firefighters were called to Squire Park apartments early Easter Sunday to battle an apartment building blaze. The fire was well-involved upon arrival of the first trucks. That being said, firefighters were able to contain the blaze and prevent fire spread to half of the building.

Later that morning, firefighters were called to a second working structure fire on the Clifton Park - Halfmoon border. Because of the abundance of manpower at the first fire, firefighters made a quick stop to the blaze and saved a good portion of the house.

Please be Mindful of Traffic Safety

Firefighters are not just responsible for putting out fires in burning structures. Another one of our roles in the community is to help keep our roads and highways safe and danger-free. This includes our presence at vehicle fires and motor vehicle accidents. When you see us on the scene of any accident or hazard, please be mindful of your speed and exercise additional caution. We need you to help keep us safe while we're busy keeping others safe.
